How much weight can your M.O.M. Tai hold? TOP
A M.O.M. Tai can hold as much weight as you can comfortable carry, which for most adults is about 45 lbs. maximum. With the shoulder straps running completely through the body of the carrier to make an internal harness and industrial strength nylon stitching, you can rest assured that your baby is safe.
What is a convertible sleeping hood? TOP
The sleeping hood on the M.O.M. Tai is "convertible," meaning that it can act as a sleeping hood if open, and as a head/neck support if stored in its flap.
We designed it this way because:
It's so easy to lose track of removable pieces and parts! We know this because we lose things and it is so frustrating! Rather than make the hood detachable, we made it stowable - when you don't want to use it you can just tuck it away.
The stored hood makes the top edge of the carrier more rigid to support the head/neck of a small baby or petite child with low neck muscle tone. It makes a tubular pillow with just enough give to hug the curve of baby's head.
What is a "new style" M.O.M. Tai like? TOP
We've made numerous changes to our carrier over the last year and a half and we will continue to strive to bring you the most comfortable, convenient, and stylish carrier you can find!
Our M.O.M. Tai Facts page breaks it all down for you (click here to check it out)!
How does the hood stay up? TOP
There are straps on the top corners of the hood which tie onto the loops on the shoulder straps. You simply slide the strap through the loop and tie a loose knot to hold it in place. We have found that a loose knot provides plenty of support to your sleeping baby's head, but is still quick and easy to untie when baby wakes up.
How do I wash my carrier? TOP
To help your carrier and it's colors last longest, machine wash in cold water on the delicate cycle, and hang to dry.
We do preshrink the materials in our carriers, so if you are in a hurry to have your carrier clean and dry you can tumble it dry.
What are the size recommendations for your M.O.M. Slings? TOP
Petite ~ up to 5'4" 130lbs
Regular ~ 5'4" 130 lbs - 5'9" 180 lbs
Plus ~ above 5'9" 180 lbs (truely plus size)
What kind of rings do you use in your M.O.M. slings? TOP
We use strong yet lightweight aluminum rings which have undergone a rigorous testing program. We have tried nylon and stainless steel and have chosen the aluminum due to the beauty and strength of the rings, as well as their seamless construction.
What type of shoulder style do your M.O.M. Slings have? TOP
Our shoulder style is sort of a marriage of a reversed hot dog and a gathered style. It is a symmetrical fold which is easily worn on either shoulder, and we leave the material wide enough at the rings that it actually gathers on them. This allows for a nice wide band of fabric which spreads nicely across your back.
How much weight can your M.O.M. sling hold? TOP
Just like a M.O.M. Tai, a M.O.M. Sling can hold as much weight as you can comfortable carry. For most adults this is about 35 lbs. The rings in the M.O.M. Slings are incredibly strong, and the shoulder is secured with two rows of triple-stitching for superior strength and durability.
What are the dimensions of the pockets on your ring slings? TOP
The large decorative pocket is 8.5" x 10", and the wallet pocket with Velcro is 4.5" x 3" - just the right size to hold your credit cards safely inside!
